ĠEMMA, in collaboration with the Department of Social Security (DSS), HSBC Malta Foundation, and Active Ageing Malta, has been organising engaging and informative sessions specifically for individuals aged 60 and over since 2023.
Held in Active Ageing Centres across Malta and Gozo, these sessions aim to equip older adults with practical and relevant financial knowledge to navigate today’s world with confidence. Topics covered include everyday money management, where participants learn how to budget, track expenses, and make smart financial decisions.
The Department of Social Security provides clear explanations on benefits and services available, helping attendees understand their rights and how to make use of them effectively. Meanwhile, HSBC Malta Foundation delivers two key sessions: one on scams and fraud, raising awareness about common tricks and how to stay protected and another on the different types of cards and cashless payments, encouraging safe and secure use of modern banking tools.
These workshops are a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain confidence in handling personal finances.
