Julian Galea Filletti, an 11-year-old student at St Augustine College (Pietà), is already showing signs of a bright future ahead. With hobbies that include tennis, squash, swimming, and art, Julian balances fun and creativity with valuable life lessons.
From a young age, Julian learned the importance of saving money, understanding that good money management helps us afford essential needs like food, housing, and transport. His outlook shows wisdom well beyond his years.
Recently, Julian participated in a national competition organized by ĠEMMA and featured in Sagħtar magazine. The competition aimed to raise awareness about fraud prevention, under the theme “Ħu Ħsieb Il-Flus Tiegħek! Oqgħod Attent Mill-Iskemi ta’ Frodi.”
Julian impressed the judges with his winning phrase:
“Jekk inti u l-flus tibqgħu ħbieb, Oqgħod attent u ħu ħsieb!”
(which translates to “If you and your money want to stay friends, be careful and take care!”)
His message earned him a €60 One 4 All gift voucher and the respect of many for his thoughtful and creative approach.
Julian’s achievement is an inspiring example of how young minds can make a big impact. So, to all students out there, keep an eye out for the next ĠEMMA competition. It could be your chance to shine next!
