Karus allows children to learn money management skills by scheduling tasks with a different number of points. Parents or guardians need to approve the completed tasks to grant the points which can be then assigned to goals or taken as pocket money. Goals, along with their cash value, are created by the child. This allows the child to start forming a relationship between the products they want and the work required to obtain them. Several visual illustrations help both users get an overview of what the child has achieved.
