Research and Evaluation Pathway
Prior to the setting up of the ĠEMMA Financial Capability programme Malta’s research institutions had limited data relating to financial literacy and behaviour in Malta. Since its inception in 2017 Ġemma has taken on several research projects one of the first major initiatives was the carrying out of the OECD / INFE survey which constitutes as a benchmark against which the impact of Malta’s financial education programmes is to be measured.
The aim of this page is to share the various research initiatives and encourage researchers to use the data to further their own research on financial capability. As part of the 2022-2025 Financial Capability Strategy ĠEMMA is committed to continue strengthening its research and evaluation pathway across the different population cohorts to gain a better understanding of related issues thereby allowing for empirical policy and educational programme design.
