Awards presentation to two winners for the ĠEMMA Ftit Interactive Play Competition
The ĠEMMA Ftit Interactive Play Competition captured the attention of a good number of participants aged between 9 and 13 years old from various state and private schools.
The aim of this competition organised by ĠEMMA within the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Social Justice and Solidarity, the Family and Children’s Rights and the Department of Accounting and Business Studies within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes (DLAP) was to educate students on the importance of financial capability – why one should budget, money management, saving for a raining date and plan one’s future amongst others.
The play also strongly highlights the importance of decision making which often impacts one’s future as well as one’s career progression. Every decision taken carries a situation that poses some questions to viewers thus the play offers also an interaction between the actors in the play and its viewers.
To complement more the importance of the lessons learnt from the play, last September, an online webinar was also organised between teachers from different schools, students as well as their parents which was followed by a discussion which turned out to be very interesting.
Following a difficult adjudication process, it was decided that the two winners whose write-up satisfied all the competition requisites are:

On Monday 21st of February, they received a gift-voucher each of €60 and €40 respectively. These vouchers are being presented in collaboration by HSBC Malta Foundation, one of ĠEMMA’s partners who continuously supports ĠEMMA in these activities.
ĠEMMA, DLAP and HSBC Malta Foundation would like to congratulate the two winners whilst thanking all the other participants for their high calibre submissions, thus making the final assessment more difficult.
