Whatever we do with money, we need to manage it properly. A planned programme of financial education can help give children the confidence, skills and knowledge they need to manage their money now and in the future.
This framework is a guide to support the planning, teaching and progression of financial education by setting out key areas of financial skills, knowledge and attitudes across 4 main themes:
- How to manage money
- Becoming a critical consumer
- Managing risks and emotions associated with money.
- Understanding the important role money plays in our lives.
The framework has been created to help teachers deliver financial education in a flexible and fun manner. It is intended to be a gauge and not to be used rigidly.
