This is the third video we produced with the Central Bank of Malta in our budgeting series.
Lovely day. After weeks locked in because of COVID-19 I decided to go with Maria, my wife, to the countryside for a long warm walk and follow this with a lovely lunch next to the sea. On my way home, quasi dusk, my car suddenly rocks! Bang!! Bang!! I just crunched into a large and deep pothole I just did not see. Out of the car I go to examine the damage hoping for the best. The sight is not pretty. I blanch. The tyre is gone. The rim is gone. The suspension too seems to be in some serious trouble. And the exhaust has become unhinged – like me ☹.
Not only is Maria’s and my day out ruined. I have a serious money problem on my hand. What’s all this going to cost? €500? €1,000? More?
Where am I going to get the money for all of this? I have no extra cash in hand at the moment and my savings are tied up. What am I going to do?
We all have had these moments – some of us maybe not so bad, others maybe worse. You need a Rainy Day fund mate.
